- Pack Smart: Bring comfortable, lightweight clothing, sunscreen, hats, binoculars, and cameras. Ensure children have appropriate gear for safaris, including sun protection and layers for varying temperatures.
- Engage the Kids: Many lodges offer educational programs or activities for children, such as nature walks, animal tracking, or cultural experiences.
- Arrival: Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) and transfer to Arusha.
- Accommodation: Check into a family-friendly hotel or lodge in Arusha.
- Activities: Depending on your arrival time, relax at your accommodation or explore local attractions.
- Meals: Dinner at the hotel or a local restaurant.
- Morning: Breakfast and transfer to Serengeti National Park. This can be done via a domestic flight to one of the Serengeti airstrips or by a road transfer (approximately 5-6 hours).
- Afternoon: Check into your family-friendly lodge or camp in the Serengeti.
- Evening: Enjoy a relaxing evening at your accommodation and dinner.
- Morning: Embark on your first game drive in the Serengeti. Enjoy the thrill of spotting wildlife and familiarize yourself with the park’s diverse habitats.
- Afternoon: Return to your lodge for lunch and relaxation.
- Evening: Another game drive or a nature walk if available. Dinner at your accommodation.
- Morning & Afternoon: Enjoy full days of game drives, exploring different areas of the Serengeti. Visit areas like the Central Serengeti, known for its high concentration of wildlife, and the Western Corridor for different landscapes.
- Optional Activities: Consider a hot air balloon safari (early morning) for a unique aerial view of the Serengeti, or visit a Maasai village for cultural insights.
- Evening: Relax at your lodge after a day of adventure. Enjoy dinner and evening activities such as storytelling around a campfire.
- Morning: After breakfast, transfer from Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater (approximately 2-3 hours’ drive).
- Afternoon: Check into your lodge or camp on the crater rim and have lunch.
- Evening: Relax and enjoy the spectacular views from the crater rim. Dinner at your accommodation.
- Morning: Descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive. This is a great opportunity to see a high concentration of wildlife in a unique volcanic landscape.
- Midday: Enjoy a picnic lunch in the crater or return to your lodge for a meal.
- Afternoon: Transfer back to Arusha. Depending on your flight schedule, you may need to stay overnight in Arusha or head directly to the airport.
- Evening: Farewell dinner and departure, if not staying overnight.
