This is the ideal itinerary if you want to see the largest herd movement of animals on the planet and go to the best national parks in Tanzania’s north. This trip will concentrate on the western Serengeti. The great migration occurs from May to July across the Grumeti River. Before coming face to face with predators waiting on the other side, the herds of wildebeests and zebras have to outwit the enormous Nile crocodiles and the swiftly moving water. A magnificent show.
Your driver will meet you at the Kilimanjaro Airport and take you to the Arusha Planet Lodge in Arusha town, where you will stay. As you settle into your lodging, get ready to begin your safari in the morning. You'll have a chance to get a little briefing about your tour and every aspect of your package that is necessary.
You will have an early breakfast and then head to Tarangire National Park for a game drive, carrying a packed lunch. The world's highest concentrations of elephants and bird species in breeding plumage can be found in this beautiful park. Wildlife is abundant in Tarangire National Park, particularly during the dry season. Large cats such as lions, leopards, and cheetahs, as well as the infrequently sighted Kudu, oryx, and gerenuk. Massive herds of gazelles, zebras, and wildebeests are drawn to the Tarangire River, where they are hunted by predators. You'll make your way to Ang'ata Tented Camp later in the afternoon to spend the night and have dinner.
You'll make your way to the well-known Serengeti National Park this morning. You will make a stop in a Maasai village along the way to learn more about this graceful warrior culture. After arriving in the Serengeti, you'll have a picnic for lunch before going on an amazing game drive. When you visit this region of the Serengeti between May and July, you can witness a significant shift—the great migration of wildebeests crossing the Grumeti River. The herds have to dodge the swift-moving water and crocodiles before coming up against the predators that are waiting on the other side. A magnificent show. You will spend the night in the Serengeti Heritage Tented Lodge.
You will get up early to leave your lodge and spend the entire day traveling across the plains with the herds, taking in the sights and sounds of the great migration. Observing the annual migration of hoofed mammals in a clockwise circle, trailed by predators, is an amazing experience. The Serengeti is the best place to go if you want to see all five of the Big Five (lion, elephant, leopard, rhino, and buffalo) in one park. You'll go back to the Central Serengeti luxury tent camps, where you will spend the night and dinner. The lodge boasts amazing views of the Serengeti.
You'll head out for a game drive in the Serengeti's central region after breakfast. This area is well-known for its profusion of lions and leopards, which are typically easy to spot. This central area offers year-round, spectacular game viewing. You'll savor the sights of unending plains and breathtaking fauna, including pangolins, ostriches, hippos, giraffes, elephants, and cheetahs. After having lunch at Serengeti, you will be heading to Ngorongoro for an overnight stay and dinner.
On this day, you'll head toward the Ngorongoro Crater. Nearly 30.000 animals, including the Big Five, are housed there. Zebras, buffaloes, lions, wildebeest, baboons, elephants, flamingos, ostriches, hippos, cheetahs, and the endangered black rhinos are all abundant in the crater. The crater appears almost surreal due to the stunning colors and moving clouds. The Ngorongoro Crater was selected as one of Africa's Seven Natural Wonders due to its breathtaking natural beauty.
You will make your way to Farm of Dreams Lodge for dinner and the night in the late afternoon.After breakfast, you will be met at your accommodation by your safari guide. You will then set out for Lake Manyara National Park. This relatively small but diverse park is so named for a shallow salt lake that covers a large area of the park's surface area. Flooding and drying with the seasons, this soda lake is home to thousands of flamingos with another 500 bird species represented in the park. On your exploration of the park, you will see monkeys, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, buffalos, elephants, and, with some luck, lions lounging in the trees. The park is known for its diverse landscapes —not only open grassy plains but also primate-filled woodlands and baobab-dotted cliffs.
After an extensive game drive through the park, you will head toward to Arusha Planet Lodge.This will be your last day of your tour with us. After having breakfast/lunch you will be dropped off at the airport for your departure.
